Aluminium hydroxide
Class:antacid,antiflatulent
Indication
It provides relief
from hyperacidity,dyspepsia,flatulence,esophagitis,hiatus
hernia,distension,pregnancy heartburn and other dyspeptic conditions associated
with or aggravated by hyperacidity and peptic activity.
Contra-indication
Antacid of any kind
should not be given to patients receiving tetracycline since milk and salt of
aluminium,magnicium,calcium and alkaline impair absorption.
Dosage
Adults and children
over 12 years:1-2 teaspoonful four hourly,children 5-12 years:half the above
dose.
